Indian Badminton Team Gears Up for Asia Mixed Championships

The Indian badminton squad, featuring stars like PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen, is finalizing its preparations for the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships. The team will participate in an intensive five-day training camp in Guwahati, refining their skills before heading to Qingdao, China, for the tournament from February 11-16.

Determined to improve on its 2023 bronze finish, India aims for a higher podium position this year. The team departs for China on February 8, fully prepared to face Asia’s strongest competitors. The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has organized the camp at the National Center of Excellence, where emerging talents will train alongside the country’s elite players.

“Hosting a senior team camp at this venue allows juniors to learn from the nation’s finest while fostering team spirit before such a crucial event,” said Sanjay Mishra, BAI Secretary General.

The training will focus on refining techniques, enhancing endurance, and strengthening team dynamics. Additionally, it will emphasize discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, ensuring the squad remains competitive in Qingdao.

India’s 14-Member Squad

India’s team boasts a formidable lineup led by two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen, a Paris Olympics semi-finalist. The squad also features Asian Games gold medalists Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, along with World and Asian Games bronze medalist HS Prannoy.
