“If Hardik delivers with the ball, it completely transforms the team’s balance.”

Zaheer noted that Hardik was previously reluctant to bowl due to injuries, particularly his back issues. However, over time, Hardik has realized the importance of his role as a bowler for the team.

“Over time, he has gradually realized the importance of taking responsibility for the team—and that makes all the difference.”

Hardik has been named in India’s ICC Champions Trophy squad, where his role as an all-rounder will be crucial to India’s title ambitions. While it’s unclear if he can bowl a full quota of 10 overs, Zaheer is pleased with his progress:

“He’s not looking at bowling in a negative way anymore, and that’s a great sign.”
