Indian Tennis Stars Set to Shine at Bengaluru Open
India’s rising star Manas Dhamne and experienced players Ramkumar Ramanathan and SD Prajwal Dev have received wild card entries for the 2025 Bengaluru Open. The ATP Challenger 125 event will take place at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) courts in Cubbon Park from February 24 to March 2.
Emerging Talent Joins the Big Stage
Seventeen-year-old Manas Dhamne is one of India’s most promising young tennis talents. He recently won his first major title at the M15 Monastir in Tunisia. Dhamne made history as the youngest player to win a first-round match at the junior Australian Open. He was also the youngest to compete in a main-draw ATP Tour match in 2023.
Experienced Campaigners Add Depth
Veterans Ramkumar Ramanathan and Prajwal Dev bring years of experience. Ramanathan, a key member of India’s Davis Cup squad, has played professionally since 2009. He is a Bengaluru favorite, with three doubles titles to his name. Prajwal Dev, who earned his ATP ranking in 2015, has excelled in both singles and doubles. He won one ATP Challenger doubles title and multiple ITF doubles championships, including four in 2024.
Wild Card Entrants Eyeing Main Draw
Dhamne, Ramanathan, and Dev are not the only wild card entrants. Young Indian players Kriish Tyagi and Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha will compete in the qualifying rounds for a spot in the main draw.
